When you are looking for solar electric systems, solar batteries can be a good investment. The solar battery is actually the power source of solar electricity. It could store solar energy that has been produced by solar panels during the daytime and it can release this stored energy at night-time or when the solar panels are not producing enough sunlight. Solar batteries are also known as solar photovoltaic (PV) batteries because they use solar PV cells to transform light into electric current.

There are three main types of solar batteries which are lead-acid, lithium-ion, and nickel-iron. They have different prices but all three have one thing in common and these would require regular maintenance so your system will operate safely and effectively throughout its lifetime. If you do not want solar batteries to spoil, you will need solar battery installers near you.

If the solar electric system is your first time encountering it, you should also know solar battery installer can help you with solar installation. This person will make sure solar panels are connected correctly and safely with solar batteries. He/she can also check voltage levels of individual components and connections throughout the house and even at the main source where the solar electricity enters your home’s wiring and electrical system. If the solar electric system is installed incorrectly, it could be dangerous for both your family members and appliances that use this stored energy in solar batteries. This is why hiring a professional solar battery installer who knows how to properly install it is very important.

When looking for a solar electric system, solar batteries are also very important components. Solar battery installers will help you with solar installation and solar panel maintenance for the solar electric system to function normally. So if you want solar panels that are safe, reliable, dependable and effective then it would be best to consult a solar battery service.

Let’s see what are the current battery types being used in the commercial market today?

1. lead-acid batteries:

These are your standard car batteries and they work OK, but not fantastic. They need to be replaced after about 300-500 cycles (in an area with full sun) and only last about 5 years. Not counting replacement costs, they'll run about $2000-$3000 with installation (which can be significant). Nonetheless, this is the most common type of battery on the market today, so it'll be our baseline for comparison.

2. Lithium Iron Phosphate:

These are used in most home solar panel systems. They're the best option right now as they cost around $800-1500 (without installation), but provide 3000 cycles and last 25 years or more. Not bad! However, currently, these batteries are still not very efficient, only around 80% compared to lead acid's 95%. Still, they're a lot better than lead-acid! And since prices dive as demand increases (as it does for more efficient models) they will become a lot more affordable.

3. Lithium-Ion batteries:

These are the best options on the market today, which are used by Tesla with their 100kW Powerwall. For these batteries, per cycle provides between 3000 and 5000 cycles with an expected life of 10 or more years. In addition to being far more efficient than lead-acid and lithium iron phosphate though, they're also lighter weight and less hazardous! So why aren't we all using it? Well, that brings us to the downside of lithium batteries, they degrade in cold weather. Since most people with grid-tie solar panels want to use their homes as a sort of emergency backup (where the grid goes down, you still have power) this is not really an option.
